Rock and Roll

About Sam Rey*:

After fronting the Bluerunners for 20 years, Mark Meaux has shed his skin once more, and the result is Sam Rey, an electronic, folk-blues project. Sam Rey draws more on the sounds of New Orleans and North Mississippi resulting in a funky, guitar driven groove exemplified by songs like March On, and Sakes Alive. There's a folk element running through here as well. The Totem 2 are Steve LaCroix and Danny Kimball, the former rhythm section from the Red Beans and Rice Revue.

About Guitar Lightnin' Lee:

Guitar Lightnin' Lee, a multi-talented rhythm and blues purist, has defied all rational logic by assembling his band with a bunch of veteran rock and rollers half his age. Lightnin' has played with such New Orleans music legends as Earl King, Fats Domino and Ernie K-Doe, and plays the music of the era with a youthful exuberance that gives the music the vibrance of it's heyday. His talent, lyrics, powerful voice, and boisterous personality match perfectly with their supercharged, blown-out style of New Orleans rock-and-roll and blues.
