Foundations of the best in traditional and progressive American Music remain steeped in the soils around Louisiana's Mississippi River Delta, and Catahoula Music Exchange is only licensing company working intimately with home-grown artists, as well as other select artists from around the world, to connect their work to those who are looking for something exceptional. We are boutique firm providing music licensing support to producers, directors, music supervisors, and other licensors through finding and clearing the sounds they are looking for.

Liconsors: We will work with you to provide you with the perfect existing or custom compositions and recordings to fit your creative project and budget, as well as assist in assuring the materials you use are cleared and available for licensing.
Artists: We will work with you to get your portfolio ready for licensing and assist you in connecting your work to those who may want to use it. We also offer publishing administration services in certain circumstances.
Film and Music Producers: We can advise and help you find or produce the perfect music for your project- whether or not its in our catalog. We assist in facilitating any music production needs you may have in Louisiana, including not only finding the perfect song, but finding the right recording studio and assisting with the state of Louisiana's sound recording tax credit program (For more information on the tax credit program, please click here.) Who We Are
Bradley Black is an intellectual property attorney and the founder of Catahoula Music Exchange. She is passionate about great music and started Catahoula Music Exchange as a project to assist independent artists in getting more income from their work. Jordan Hirsch , a consultant for Catahoula Music, brings experience from his years as excutive director for the post-storm New Orleans musician's advocacy non-profit, Sweet Home New Orleans, and as a writer and consultant for the HBO series, Treme. Born in raised in New Orleans, he's an encyolpedia of its musical history and its current music environment.
Alison Fensterstock has been a fixture in the New Orleans music scene for years, contributing to its cultural prosperance through her consistent writing for such local publications as the New Orleans Times-Picayune and the Gambit weekly, as well as contributing to national pubilcations such as MOJO, Paste, Vibe, Q, Ms, the Oxford American, The Daily et cetera, et cetera. She also: consults for HBO's series, Treme; is a DJ for New Orleans's world renknowned independent radio station, WWOZ; works passionatly for the Ponderosa Stomp Showcase; and has educated the nation on New Orleans "Bounce Rap" through her contributions to the travelling exhibit, "Where They At: New Orleans Bounce and Hip-Hop in Words and Pictures." Needless to say, we are incredibly lucky that she has the time to consult for us too!
